Here's a new game to expand my archives, I present to you GoldenWold -Nokoshi the evil king-. Link between Felix and Filix Vengelis -Black Crystal Mask- and HopDrop, a lesson in many ways. The tumultuous history surrounding this game influenced the development of HopDrop.

Already, what is the interest of presenting old games?

The interest is multiple.

• If you only discover me with this game, I would invite you to see a more recent and fun production.
• My itch.io page acts like a portfolio. As such, I think it is very interesting to see old productions side by side with the most recent ones, for comparison, and to show that I am in perpetual evolution.
• Logical continuation of the previous point, I want to show that I do not come out of nowhere and that I have the conviction to complete what I undertake and to surpass myself.
• This will show budding creators (or people who lack self-confidence), in all fields (video games in this case, but also writing or dance, for example), that nothing comes out of nowhere, Everything must have a beginning. For my part, I have come a long way, what it takes is not to let go and keep the faith.
• I am transparent, I have no reason to hide my old productions, failures or not.

GoldenWorld -Nokoshi the evil king-, what is it?

GoldenWorld -Nokoshi the evil king- is an A-RPG with absurd and sometimes vulgar humor, started on August 26, 2013. For the gameplay, it has a certain proximity with HopDrop, the latter having drawn a lot from GoldenWorld experiments. As for the shape of the universe, as mentioned in this devlog, GoldenWorld -Nokoshi the evil king- takes its heritage from Felix and Filix Vengelis -Black Crystal Mask-. Such similarities made the GoldenWorld series a spin-off series from Felix Vengelis.

Even if the bulk of the inspiration still comes from The Legend of Zelda -A link to the past-, GoldenWorld -Nokoshi the evil king- draws its inspiration from more games than the Felix Vengelis games.

GoldenWorld -Nokoshi the evil king- therefore initiates its series, which will be unfinished as it is, the fault of bad company. The reception of this game was in any case indifferent, also the fault of a game appearing too classic and also too vulgar in its humor.

But, GoldenWorld -Nokoshi the evil king-, what does it bring?

GoldenWorld -Nokoshi the evil king- especially makes a significant contribution in terms of gameplay. Indeed, it was the first action game I started, Felix and Filix Vengelis -Black Crystal Mask- not being totally an action game.

Real-time sword combat system, improvement of transformation systems, improvement of HUDs, introduction of a super jump system... Here are the main contributions of GoldenWorld in terms of gameplay. GoldenWorld -Nokoshi the evil king- has especially improved the dungeon design and the staging (even if some hiccups remain, it's still an old game).

Is the version presented on itch.io the original from 2013, 2014 and 2015?

Not quite. Even if the older versions of GoldenWorld -Nokoshi the evil king- are close to the version presented here, the game has still undergone facelifts, especially for a republication in 2017.

The big disclaimer on the main page discourages me, can I still play GoldenWorld -Nokoshi the evil king-?

Obviously, I would rather recommend that you play HopDrop. The disclosure of my archives is especially there to mark what I said in the part "Already, what is the interest of presenting old games?". Also, if ever some curious people want to rub shoulders with GoldenWorld -Nokoshi the evil king-, despite all the warnings on the quality that I have been able to do, I encourage them. Seeing this old game to learn from it (what works or not in a video game, work on yourself to gain more confidence ...) is something that I find very beautiful.
