In the previous devlog (which is best read before this one), we talked about 2 main characters of HopDrop: the casual Alex and the megalomaniac Trydoms. And as announced in the said previous devlog, let's not change the program and discover King HopDrop and the Fairy Queen.

Man in distress, HopDrop Volga is the reigning king of Tobadia and father of Alex. He is in many ways the opposite of Trydoms. HopDrop is popular with people (he is also the first in opinion polls), kind, friendly, small and frail and not self-centered at all. Alex says of HopDrop that he has a "smile that scares the piegons", and honestly he's right.

It is however curious to see someone like HopDrop being king of a country, he has the mentality of a 6 year old child. Saying hello to everyone and especially anything (including flowers and trees), eating muffins, singing at the top of his lungs and dancing with butterflies are his passions in life. He also always has butterflies flying around him, except when he gets eaten by Trydoms.

The reason that HopDrop gave his name to the game is a relic of the time when he was planed to be the hero and Alex (who was not yet called Alex, by the way) the character to save. This game name remained for a whole bunch of reasons that we will have the opportunity to discuss.

A characterful deuteragonist, the Fairy Queen is Alex's main helper during this adventure, because she is the one who teaches the game's moves and she's the one who does the game's tutorial. She is, as her name suggests, not the monarch of the little ginger kittens, but of the Fairies, whose kingdom revolves around the Fairies land and the Fairy Sanctum, the HUB of the game.

The Fairy Queen is only slightly more serious than HopDrop (with whom she gets along well). What sets her apart is her very strange speaking skills: she often speaks to her interlocutor in the third person singular. She is also a fan of Binky's Show, like Alex and Trydoms, but also of tea. A ridiculous detail about her is that she is... afraid of heights. Rather funny for a Fairy.
